I have purchased a 10 slot JKA Server hosted in the U.S.A. It currently has all of the !!BOSS!! maps minus a couple of updates to them. The IP is 198.23.145.10:29070 for anybody interested. If it takes off and gets more clients/players interested in it I am going to look into upgrading the Slot count to a higher number and eventually into a 32 slot.

!! LEADERSHIP CHANGES !!

Greetings fellow members and clients!

At the very start of the post, I wanted to thank all of you guys for these few years I've been leader and these few more years I've been here as a member. It was really great time!

But what starts, sooner or later have to finish and now it came to my turn. Sadly I'm not availiable since while to lead our clan actively, especially as our server somewhat is getting more popular (assumable by gametracker ranking), all what I would do now is pushing our clan back.

So I have made necessary steps and I want to announce my replacement, with which also comes 2 others major changes.

Congratulations to Illusion!!BOSS!!*SG - now the *Avatar
Congratulations to Sonic!!BOSS!!*SK - now the *SG
And least, but not last: Samwise!!BOSS!!*DD - now the *AD

I'm completly sure that you guys will do great job and with such squad council for sure will be alive for once again - which also will have an outcome on clans activity.

Also I want to thank Skelleto for all the great job has done when leading Demons. Of all his doings, he has achieved the Lord rank. Congratulations mate.

This might be all of the changes for now, although I'm pretty sure that soon will come more of these. For better ofcourse Again thank you guys for all the time we have spent together. And just so you know, I'm not completly leaving. I will still keep my eyes opened at the server and forums, but as the Lord. Atleast for now.

-= DDoS Attacks + Server Situation =-

Greetings people,

Recently as some of you have noticed the Server has been experiencing on-going DDoS attacks, for those that don't know what that is, it's fairly explained here.

Now for the past days i've been undercover on the server in addition of checking information logs trying to get an overview what is happening.

This is what is known about these so called 'attacks' so far:

• The packets are coming from a VPS server hosted by the german provider Professional-Gameserver.com
• The pricing starts at approx 39,90€ and goes up to 55,99€, which assumes it has a load of bandwidth which our gamehoster has no chance of dealing with
• We do not know who is paying for this service, but the person doing so must have a lot of money to throw around
  

The attack have stopped in time of writing this, but may only be temporary.


So what happens next?

Well, there isn't really an easy way to avoid DDoS attacks like this, but I have been in contact with Terminator in order for him to contact our server provider to see what they can do. I have also mentioned changing hosts, which would perhaps be the only resolution to do in the end. There is nothing I can do at this point.

I will keep you updated as I know more.

As you may be aware, we're currently discussing server troubles and recent DDoS Attacks.

About changing host, we're studying the VPS/hosts around, and will try to find the best for !!BOSS!! community.

However, the current server has already been paid for another 4 weeks. We'll use this time to find the best choice.

We know many will not like staying on this server for an additional 4 weeks, but we can't waste money. I hope you guys understand that.

But we're not giving up on preventing the lags and crashes. Terminator has contacted our current host about current server troubles and is waiting for them to answer. We'll do everything we can to "unlag" the server.

Thanks guys for your patience. We'll keep you updated.

Dear clan members,

An age has come to pass, ill be no longer the OvLord of this clan. I have decided it is time to move towards a new future. This future will be led by Sonic who will as of today be the new OvLord. A new server is being setup as we speak and should be online soon.

Congratulations new leaders! 

We have been discussing a new server for a long time now and we are deeply sorry for the wait but it's here; Nfoservers! It is currently protected against DDoS attacks and is more stable than our old server. Maps will change more fluidly and for the most part it will not lag. However, it is entirely normal that the server might crash due to map bugs that are found when building new maps. If this occurs please report these bugs to ensure further stability for our server.


The new IP is 74.91.116.215:29070 and it is currently hosted in New York.

The current authlevels for BOSS admins will be wacky and they may not work for you. Sonic will be fixing them soon.

!!BOSS!! vs Client
- All members should respect clients, regardless of how they treat you.
Clients that break our rules have to be punished in the right way:
- Every client that is breaking a rule must be evaluated case by case.
- Admins should use the proper punishment for each evaluated case. [ex. spamming = being muted, laming = jail time]
- Before Executing a punishment, the client must be warned 3x times.
- Black-booked members MUST be warned 1 time before executing a punishment.
-Do not spread any private information about clients, respect their privacy.

!!BOSS!! vs !!BOSS!!
- All members should respect each other, regardless of how they treat you.
In other words:
- There will be no executing punishment commands on follow members, if a sutiation comes up, make a report to a leader or a council member.
- No Flaming or Harassing each other in any way.
- Do not share any private information about fellow members, respect their privacy.

5) Language rules:
a. Language rules?
- for our, and everyone's comfort on the server, we've decided to make some rules concerning language's.
b. Language rules:
- Messages said more than twice in rapid succession is spamming. Use of binds, kill trackers and suiciding in an effort to spam the chat will not be tolerated. This includes annoying messages. Admins may mute/jail or kick depending on the infraction.
- !!BOSS!! is a English speaking clan. Use of English only in the public and admin chat. Private chat you may use the language of your own choice.
- Racism, nazism, sexual, sexism or other offensive/discriminatory behavior/talks are prohibited, do not discriminate or say any discriminating terms in any chat.
- Do not annoy others by spamming taunts. Do not ruin others game play by being a nuisance.
- Do not argue, flame or insult your fellow clients on the server.

The Poll for wiping the levels/credits are over. Everybody is now starting fresh at level 1 and will have no credits. /accountedit <name> <credits> and /accountedit <name> <level> are deactivated and will not work. /Place target_credits and /spawnstring edit target_credits will not work either. If a builder needs to use those for any reason they must do it on their own build server.

!!PASSWORD CHANGE!!

I would like to kindly ask all clients and members to change their passwords once again. This is for better security and the recent account breach we had a few hours back.

Note that having a password at least 25 charcters would be excellent. The cmd to change your password is /chpasswd. I would like to make this clear that colour codes do not enhance the difficulty of your password at all. Simple decoder programs can easily get through colour codes and slice it within minutes so I would suggest to have a password that has symbols, numbers, and letters. Do not use the percent sign. It doesn't work on JKA for those who don't know yet.

Please note that changing your own password is vital each month for more security. Always keep a simple notebook.txt document for password storage or anywhere that you might feel that is safe.

Sonic decided to Step down from the rank of Overlord and past it on to me. He wanted to retire to the rank of Mystic.
This means that me ~SkelletO~ now is the new leader of the clan.
